What is your average class size?
Our average API test prep class size is between 6 and 15 people. We intentionally keep our API classes small because this allows for one-on-one help when needed and the participants get to know and help each other. Smaller class sizes allow for better interaction between the instructors and the participants, which in turn encourages questions.

What if I have a question after the training?
We will answer basic API and ASME Code related questions, if possible and if time permits, at no charge. If the questions are very involved and require research; we can provide a proposal to consult with you. We have had companies contract with us using an open purchase order, for this purpose. We only bill for the time spent on the project; there is no retainer.

How far do you travel for training services?
BAY Technical currently offers public API training courses in the Northeast, North Carolina, St. Croix, and California. We offer on-site training wherever it's requested. We have conducted on-site training courses nationwide, as well as in Singapore, Trinidad and Tobago, and Canada. Thanks to our scope of services, and commitment to quality and service, we have built up a loyal client base that includes various manufacturing and commercial sectors.

Does BAY Technical offer other public courses?
Currently, BAY Tech only offers 5 public test prep courses. However, we always welcome feedback from our current and prospective clients. If you would like to see additions to our course offerings, please contact us with your suggestions. We will review the interest in potential courses annually to determine our complete offerings for the following year.

Inspection:
How long has BAY Technical been in business?
Our API and ASME Code inspectors have been in the boiler, pressure vessel, piping inspection, and rotating equipment inspection industry for well over thirty years. BAY Technical has been in the inspection and API training business since January 1996. Our experience and knowledge provided a natural expansion into offering our full range of services to the boiler and pressure vessel industry.

Once the inspection is complete, how long before you submit an inspection report?
In most cases, an inspection report can be submitted within 24 hours.

How far do you travel for inspection services?
BAY Technical offers boiler and pressure vessel inspection services, primarily in the Northeastern United States but we have traveled throughout the US, Canada, and Europe to perform Third-party inspections. Thanks to this scope of services, and our commitment to quality and service, we have built up a loyal client base that includes various manufacturing and commercial sectors.

Does BAY Technical perform whole-plant inspections?
This would depend on the size of the plant inspection and the extent of the inspections or plant audit that is required.

With whom will I discuss the specifics of the inspection?
You will always discuss the particulars of your inspection with senior-level management. We have built our company with a commitment to customer satisfaction and personal attention. With this in mind, we want to assure you that only the most knowledgeable members of our team will oversee your needs.

Positive Material Identification:
Can BAY Technical perform Positive Material Identification (PMI) of an alloy and provide the carbon content of the material?
With the use of our SpectroTest OES spark test analyzer, we can provide the PMI chemical analysis of the material, including the carbon content.

Are the BAY Technical PMI technicians trained?
All PMI technicians have been thoroughly trained in radiation safety for the XRF equipment and have received manufacturer's training and certification in the use of both analyzers.

Does BAY Technical's XRF analyzer contain a radiation source?
Since our Innov-X Systems analyzer does not contain a nuclear radiation source it is much easier to transport. This system uses a miniature X-ray tube to perform the test.
